I recently bought Mark's (parky69) MC21R, he's certainly been busy & its already modified heavily (see garage). Plan to convert from road to track bike. The engine feels + sounds very crisp, recently rebuilt by StephenRC45, flywheel lightened & also the barrels were decked according to Mark. I've not had chance to ride it yet , with a month overseas straight after buying it.

The ultimate plan:
HRC Race Wiring Loom and HRC Delimiter (ignition advance??)
Convert to Pre-mix
Remove standard Air Box
Run Open Carbs + Carbon Box Shield (from Andy)
VHM Heads
Triple Core Radiator (with modded cap to clear RVF forks)
Billet Top Yoke
Ohlins Rear Shock (gotta love the sublime anodised gold springer)
Mag-Teks (if I can find them)
Tyga GP Race Fairing
Maybe some Stainless Chambers and maybe a RS250R Carbon Seat / Tail Unit (I'm going to look at Si's, which will probably swing it!!)




A few choice bits from Yahoo Auctions / OkShon, not all will be used. Maybe fit the JHA Trumpets - Airbox lid to my MC21SP.

I'm working overseas for 6 months of next year, so expect this will be a slow-burn project.

Certainly have Roy! I'm planning on keeping the exhausts, even if I get some stainless chambers. But if that changes, you'll have the first shout.
I see your building up your race bike this winter, I'll drop by at some point and catch up if that's OK?

You'll need the "delimiter" to run the HRC loom as it's part of it. It's got one of the PGM plugs on it.
Some people do splice this little harness into the stock loom rather than do the wire splice. I've not seen any evidence to suggest it does any more than the wiresplice does, it definately does do the wire splice for you, it may or may not do something else as well. Andy will tell you it does, but he doesn't run one himself and his roadbike makes more power than plenty of race bikes, read into that what you will.
Premix is worthwhile just for the ease of access to the motor.
Ditto for the airbox and carb access.
VHM heads are apparently worth while (if expensive).
A radiator is worth getting for sure, my racebike runs too hot (in the 70's) in summer.

Still in rebuild stage, changing out a lot of parts. Just fitting the HRC PGM-III and Loom. NF5 (1992) Triple / Yokes, Magteks, Clocks, Rad.......











Not sure exactly what spec the Rad is. Description on Yahoo Auctions was MC18 F3. Its double core and has the HRC temp gauge probe fitting, but only 2 coolant hose fittings, not 3??

The Jha AirFlow airbox lid adds a really nice sound to the bike. Also let's it breath a little more with keeping the airbox/filter in place for road use.

Could have been a little "cleaner" finish for the money, but I know I still put my $$ down on it when I was in Japan just cause it was pretty trick

Dan, I changed out the RVF Yokes to RS250 Yokes because the RS is much lighter & it also looks a lot better. The Yokes are from a 1992 RS NF5 (USD Forks) so are 50mm top yoke rather than 41 mm. The top yoke fits the RVF forks, but the bottom yoke has 52 mm fork tube clearance.

I don't have a pic of the sleeves before fitment, but were made from 52 mm (OD) seamless exhaust tube. The ID was turned on a lathe out to 50 mm to fit the RVF forks, then the sleeve was notched. It fitted perfectly.

I havn't rode the bike yet, so don't know how the HRC PGM feels compared to standard. There are several other engine mods, so it won't be easy to compare the PGM difference directly to my standard MC21SP.

After 3 days hard work on the bike, fitted the HRC needles & MJ / SJ sizes as per HRC SS settings and got the carbs on. I've decided to run open carbs & carb shield, rather than the JHA airbox.

Mixed up some pre-mix with Castrol XR77 & Unleaded. With the 2nd hand HRC race loom / CDI / HRC PGM all untested, I wasn't entirely sure, but I needn't have worried. A couple of prods on the kickstart and she fired up. Lovely & crisp, ticks over really nice.

Looking good for its first track day end of May!
