"I started it up, it ran for about five minutes, then it seized and seized it stayed! So I put it in the garage to fix one day but never have the time. It seized on tickover - thats all I know. I think one barrell is ok but the righthand barrell is scored and piston is damaged".
Hmmm, reality is the piston is missing and the con-rod has about 1cm of play it. The barrel is actually fine.
No big deal but why lie? _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
My (mc21) racebike is/was more than a match (on the dyno) for Alex Leek's mc18 F3 engined/electrics mc21, so mid-high 60's on Steve's dyno.
And on the nc35 I matched my typical mc21 race times in the damp with a force 9 gale at Cadwell in track day traffic making mistakes left right and centre.
The nc35 is a proper bit of kit, in the right hands it would win F400 races, this mc21 I'm putting together is stock motor/pipes and is maybe wire spliced.
Besides, we're racing at Donny later in the year so some track time on the '35 is what's required, if I get to ride round the outside of a bunch of peeps on here at the same time...well...all the better! _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I am not disputing the rvf being a quicker easier to ride bike....but could your times getting quicker not also be down to you having more experience and better track knowledge?
I'm faster (far far faster, 15-20 seocnds a lap) now than I was when I last rode an RVF400, one that made very little (if any) more power than this one.
Sometimes I think you should just continually swap bikes (if you just want to lap faster) to keep redefining your limits, every bike has good points and bad points and unless you're very very fast indeed you're not even near the real limit.
For example I was never happy with my bike right over on my knee until I rode the mc21 on Supercorsa's, now I'll corner someone else's bike (on tyres didn't like) like that.
It took one bike to make me happy that far over, now I'm always happy like it.
Not that lean angle always means faster laptimes of course.
But we'll see, you passed me with ease at the last Donny on your NX5, are you there Tuesday after next?
If so you'd better bring your armour _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
