It's pretty easy. Same as laying up GRP, but the carbon doesn't form anywhere near as well so you have to be more accurate with your cuts and keep at it. On the other hand, the epoxy takes way longer to go off than the resin widely used for GRP, so you don't have to panic. If the kit comes with a gel coat then you'll be churning out parts that look great.

Chris has done some amazing work with fiber (both glass and carbon).

I was going to get my man to make some HRC style airboxes from Cartman fibre...

What weight is that, and how much do you want for it?

Also, is it suitable for "normal" GRP style wet lay-up?

As far as im aware carbon can be laid like fibreglass. just needs more prep in cutting it right to go round curves ect.

I think i have 300 weight. it is perfect for show bits as the weave is very good.

im not 100% how much ive got but ill check and price then

This is a good website if you want to make your own carbon parts:
http://www.mci.i12.com/carbon/
Loads of good info on here, the only difference between doing fibreglass an carbon is the cloth, technique and normally the resins are the same.

No the resins are quite a bit different. And a lot more toxic! Some of the good stuff yo uneed a decent respirator to use!

The type of resin you use really depends on the application. On the work I have done I have used the same resins on carbon and glass cloth. The nicest stuff to work with is pre-preg, no mess and no fumes.
What parts have you made Max?
