NSR MC18 forks

Tue Sep 15, 2020 5:54 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi everybody! I'm new to this forum having just purchased a 1989 NSR 250 MC18. It needs quite a bit of TLC, but that's one of the reasons i bought it - to get the spanners out! Fork seals first and now I'm trying to pin down how much oil to put back in. I've downloaded a PDF manual which seems to be a general NSR 250 manual with supplements on different models. It says 435cc for the K, MC18 model - is this right? Look forward to getting some advice and getting it on the road before the salt is thrown about. Cheers

Hi "Daveyboy", and welcome to NSR-WORLD.COM

I've moved your question to the NSR250 Discussion area to ensure it gets the attention it requires.

In answer to your question, yes, if your 1989 is an R model [non-adjustable forks], then the specified fork oil quantity is 435cc.

For future reference, just in case you didn't know, it will likely be beneficial if you state whether you have an R5K (R model) or R6K (SP model), or add it to your profile. There aren't a huge number of differences, but obviously they do matter. The differences range from minor cosmetics such as the front disc carrier colours, to the more important fluid levels, and different mechanical parts.
