NSR250 stuff in the making

Fri Feb 07, 2020 2:18 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Guys,
Haven't really had more than a spare few seconds to relax in the last several months, as it always seems to be full steam ahead here at TYGA Performance.
Anyway, thought I'd just share a couple of pics of things that I'm playing with in between making pipes, designing CNC parts, answering emails......

Can ya guess what it is yet?

As I mentioned in PaulG's build thread just recently, always something going on, Les! Wink

This is going to be a cracking little unit once finished. Very Happy

Could also be argued that it looks a bit factory NSR... Wink

This is just the beginning of it really. Yep, digital temp and speedo for starters.

The main thing was that Paul was complaining that his street RS doesn't have a speedo, and as I'd had an Arduino kicking around for a while, thought that I'd better make something.

Then I dug out my April Systems detonation sensors and with fantastic assistance from Mike at April Systems, I've now hooked the data input up so that I can count the dets. Which of course then made me think about sending a signal to the CDI (didn't say PGM) if detonation occurs......but more on that later.

Andy knows what's going on and has already moaned endlessly about the LCD screen.....I quite like it, but just to keep moaning Andy happy, I have a higher resolution colour screen on order and will see what that looks like if/when it arrives.

The factory NSR dash is certainly an inspiration, and on a couple of other builds I've designed and 3D printed various "foam" dashes (Flexi TPU actually), and they look great. No constraints and all that.

Oh well.....back to the grind Smile

Because I want to be able to watch PornHub on it in colour!

I'm hoping for a PGM 4 replacement that's fully derestricted. And has outputs for an optional fuel injector kit. All with a USB -C interface to make adjustments through the fully user friendly provided software interface.

Am I close Matt?

On the swingarm conversion. The parts are made and we're just waiting on an independent test and evaluation. We like to have our parts tested first before sticking then up for sale, but yes, it shouldn't be long before they're up on the site.

On the electronics side, the first plan is a simple dash that is for the MC21.

The initial limiting factor is that the Arduino is a little lacking in the memory department, but I have a new micro controller on the way which will offer much faster operation and allow more functions.

A PGMIII or PGMIV replacement is certainly something of interest. How much connectivity and control there would be is probably only limited by budget.....and my time Smile
