The initial limiting factor is that the Arduino is a little lacking in the memory department, but I have a new micro controller on the way which will offer much faster operation and allow more functions.
A PGMIII or PGMIV replacement is certainly something of interest. How much connectivity and control there would be is probably only limited by budget.....and my time
