Which exhaust have I got?

Thu Feb 17, 2011 6:14 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Cleaning my bike today after picking it up last weekend and one of the Arrow stickers on the exhaust started peeling off...I thought it may have been an Arrow exhaust but after peeling the rest of the sticker off there where blemishes underneath it suggesting that it's just a sticker not an Arrow exhaust.

Do any of you knowledgeable chaps know which exhaust I have? I can't find any markings on it. Images below...also a few images after cleaning/polishing today.

Fairings are going to a bodywork shop next week for repair and cleaning. The guy swears he'll have them looking like new so looking forward to that.

I have a stock front fender on the way from Jap Performance, luckily the only one they had in stock was the red MC28 one I needed. Also have an aluminium fairing stay coming from them, a full fairing bolt set from ****** plus new indicators, headstock bolt and a few other bits to tidy it up and help return it to new(ish) condition...project is fully underway.

On Sunday the bike is off for new tyres, a full service and dyno setup...I'm going to test it as it is and again with a drilled airbox to see what difference it makes (hoping for around 50-55hp). I've got an HRC jet kit for setting up the carbs properly and the oil pump will be reinstalled.

You'll be stoked. Nice score.
Check the mounting tab on the expansion chamber for any identification. (where the bolt screws in and secures it.

No markings there. I can't find any markings anywhere...

Its a nice looking exhaust. The welding is very good, I'm guessing its a full stainless system but the spanny is pretty caked in dirt so going to take some work to get it shiny.

Scotch brite pads on the exhaust ftw!
Just been cleaning up my forks, found that scotch brite pads just don't cut the mustard when it comes to the pitting through the anodizing.
120, 240 grit sandpaper, dremel, buffs and polishing compound; 10-20 hours and a final scotch brite for that brushed finish.

Ok, I found out its a Dogfighter system.

The design, especially the welded plate of metal between the spanny & stinger is the same as Dogfighters pipes.

Just need to find out who made the cans...

Getting confused now...lol

I'd say there are definitely HARC pro's.

Th spannies are definitely like the ones in this image...http://www.dreamgate.ne.jp/NSR/bikemonth/2005/aug05.html

And the end cans are identical to the ones in this image...http://www.dreamgate.ne.jp/NSR/Tuning/harc%20pro.htm

Mine just need a good old polish.

I'm with you on that one. Harc-Pro. I once had a nightmare about all those silencer nozzles on the bench to be linished.
