I am sorry to say this but i cant find where to adjust my air screw. i took off the seat faring but i can only see the black air box. is there an air screw on both side or just one side? a photo would be nice, looked through the manual and still couldnt finde it.
lots of thanks!

might help if you list your bike model as well, different carbs for different series i think.

"Working on one carb' at a time, first note the original settings, in case you ever wish to return the carb's to their original state. Screw the air screw in, counting the number of turns carefully. Now unscrew the first float chamber. Push out the float retaining pin and carefully lift out the float. Keep each float and needle with its respective carburettor body. Note that as you remove the float the float needle will come out too. You will be greeted by a view similar to this:"

found that on this link, the way i read it its not in the float bowl, anyone with a pic could enlighten us both.

I don't want to 'hijack' this thread, so Moderators do let me know if I should start a new one.
But on the subject of air screws for the off idle to low rpm range.
I'm having big trouble starting from cold, it will never kick but goes after a (sometimes lengthy push). Once running, I've noticed its very wooly from idle to around 3000 rpm, too much throttle and it wants to bog down, too weak a mixture? From 3000 to 12000 rpm its as crisp as a winters morning. Air screw setting?
A final point, once warm it'll go first kick, or by hand, with no throttle! Confused

thanks differntstrokes that helps heaps ay

max, looks like the airscrew is located behind the fuel line that goes in to the fuel bowl (right nipple/tubey looking thing to the right of the pen), should be on either side of the carb and you should be able to access it with the fairing off, you might have to remove the line or just push it out of the way. should be located just under your airbox by the looks of it too.

but looking at it again.. i cant be too sure

I found my 21 was really painfull down low as well. And hard to start. Hard to take off under 4-5k. I changed the air screws to 2 full turns out (they were 1.5 each before) and it made it much better. Easier to start as well.
I think it would actually be better with another 1/4 turn out but its come into winter over here so the cold air will help with that a little.

The carbs actually line up with the respective cylinder if you look at them from a riding position.
