Air Leak?

Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:11 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have a quick question for the experts. I can start the bike, blip the throttle and it revs freely, on occasion the revs will hang up for a second or two, then fall back to idle. Does this sound like an air leak?
Thanks!!

Not an expert but.....could be an air leak but could be something simple like having your idle set a little too high - happened to me - once I adjusted it down to 1250 or so, no more rpm hang up. Maybe you'll get lucky too. Good luck.

It can also be caused by the carbs being alittle out of balance which is a very easy fix and quite simple to check.

Thanks for all the advice. It was not an air leak. A good carb clean and adjustment and it's good to go!
