It still doesnt run on 2 so I decided to start removing the gearbox, and on removing the drain plug was greeted by some pretty black looking gear oil that had some bits of sh*t in it Crying or Very sad . Bearing in mind this is an SP motor its not clutch debris so theres summat wrong in there.

I'm now stuck until tomorrow when I can get a 22mm socket to remove the clutch, are there any more suprises waiting for me (larger nut sizes etc)

and once I get the replacement box goes in what oil do i need to fill it with?

Mick, that nut is a bugger to get off, do you have a friend with a hammer/rattle gun thing ? Dont do what i did and snap off one of the iner bolt mount things on the basket? if you can find one there aroun £30 - 40 to replace! get the proper clutch tool or stuff some wrags in there to stop it from moving. as for oil, i must confess i just went to my honda dealer and asked what to stick in, i think it was Motul light gear oil????? ...

Right, whoever said sp and r boxes where the same negleted to mention that the input shafts are different Twisted Evil (which to be fair I thought they would be) so after a while swapping gears and circlips from 1 shaft to the other my box is now changed.

I've just the clutch plates to put back in, front sprocket and generator cover back on and put some fluids back in it. Then I just need to get it running on 2 again and it's ready for Llandow, woohoo!! Laughing
