Are you still planning on getting an NSR on the dyno to get some carb setting results?

That should've been yesterday Dave, but everything went tits-up! Rolling Eyes

For a start the heavens opened big time, so there was no way a fair weather rider like me was going to ride 50 miles down to Plymouth in that downpour, and my '21 has just lunched its' battery so I didn't want to risk anything not quite running 100% until I replace it. Also, Stephen's 300 has gone bang one last time (he's back to a 250 now, but awaiting barrels from the plater's), so we would only have had the one MC21 test bike to play with, and it's hard to justify a whole days dyno rental for just one bike.

There's a slim chance of it happening next Wednesday, failing that it will be at the end of August/beginning of September... maybe! We may have the first of teh NSR-WORLD.COM pipes to test then too, if I get my finger out! Smile

Bummox.

Stephen must be absolutely livid. Maybe it's time to tape up all the holes in his airbox and use a Bic biro as the sole air intake!

Once more time eh?
Stephen, bearing in mind you said you killed it last time on a 230 main jet we've got to figure it's not going to be fixed by just jetting bigger.
Bigger carbs or less advanced timing (got a '28 flywheel lieing around anywhere?) has got to be worth a try if your up for another go.

lol I'm not livid Dave, i can just think of better ways of spending £700 than on replating 300 barrels, then add pistons and gaskets in the last 7 months! Shocked In total i would say ive spent close to £1550 on the kit, replating etc

Ive got my self a set of MC18 F3 barrels so ive just sent them off for freshen up and i will go from there.

Maybe im asking or exspecting too much from the 300. The last run i did it was making 73bhp with stock carb but with power jets and the hrc jet kit. No good if it cant take a thrashing though.

Still My 21 is still going strong and Im sure the 18 will fly once more with these new barrels. I live in hope, and if all else fails i have my we V4.

Andy says i have great staying power Rolling Eyes

Masochistic:

Self-defeating Personality Disorder is a pervasive pattern of self-defeating behavior, beginning by early adulthood (or NSR ownership) and present in a variety of contexts. The person may often avoid or undermine pleasurable experiences, be drawn to situations or relationships in which he or she will suffer, and prevent others from helping him or her, as indicated by at least five of the following:

chooses people and situations that lead to disappointment and failure even when better options are clearly available; (250 over 300)

rejects or renders ineffective the attempts of others to help him of her; (Andys run out of ideas too)

following positive personal events (e.g., new achievement (I managed 800 miles last time before it died!)), responds with depression (i need a pub), guilt (after all this money ive spent on it how can i give up), or a behavior that produces pain (when i kick the barrles around the garage) ( e.g., an accident);

incites angry or rejecting responses from others and then feels hurt, defeated, or humiliated (e.g., makes fun of spouse in public, provoking an angry retort, then feels devastated); (I am devastated!)

rejects opportunities for pleasure, or is reluctant to acknowledge enjoying himself or herself (despite having adequate social skills and the capacity for pleasure); (How can i take the opportunities to have pleasure when i cant go any where on the damned thing)

fails to accomplish tasks crucial to his or her personal objectives despite demonstrated ability to do so, (e.g., helps fellow students write papers , but is unable to write his or her own); (sets race bikes up for a living but cant keep his in one bit)

is uninterested in or rejects people who consistently treat him or her well,
(thats because im pissed off and still need a pub)

engages in excessive self-sacrifice that is unsolicited by the intended recipients of the sacrifice; (ive given more to this bike than any normal man ever should)

lol Is that what your talking about billy? Wink

The timing on my 28 doesn't help the 300 kit last any longer either I'm afraid.... Crying or Very sad Of course it MAY help on a 21, but I can't see how.

What problems have you suffered Clarkie? We three must get together sometime and compare notes. Are you back to 250 at the moment?

Dave Ett is looking to sort out a local area meet around the end of August in the Swindon area, so hopefully you can make it.
