Stephen, bearing in mind you said you killed it last time on a 230 main jet we've got to figure it's not going to be fixed by just jetting bigger.
Bigger carbs or less advanced timing (got a '28 flywheel lieing around anywhere?) has got to be worth a try if your up for another go.
