MC28 jet kit ??

Mon Jan 18, 2021 11:19 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys , I have a MC28 that I have upgraded with a P030 HRC card , wire splice , pod filters and expansion chambers, the next step is the jetting and am wondering if T2 Racings MC21 kit will work on the MC28 - does anyone have any experience with this kit or alternate ones ??

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Only the main jets are the same between all the NSRs. You will need a kit specific to the MC28, with the correct needles & holders, emulsion tubes, and slow (pilot) jets. Powerjet blanks and the HRC X & Y air correction joints are interchangeable with the MC21 parts, although the X-piece is plumbed slightly differently on the MC28.

I had T2Racing make a dedicated kit for Prelude 2.2, but it was expensive, to say the least. He'll need to tell you if it was worth it really. Saying that, if you've gone the pod filter/race pipes/HRC card, you don't really have much choice, if you want it right. You can bodge certain aspects of it, but I'd never personally recommend it or do it.

I talk to T2 most days, so I can ask if they will do another kit for you if you want?

T2 are pricing up the individual parts to make up the kit, and direct shipping to Canada with the current exchange rate. I'll contact you directly with the price once they let me know.

I've PM'd you a request for a shipping address. Even if you can just supply a generic address for your area please, T2 can then get an accurate quote together.

Ironic that you have an odd J2bb... I had to buy one from Yahoo! Auctions because one of mine was "lost" (don't ask!), and by the time I'd paid taxes and shipping (no EMS to UK at the time because of COVID, so had to be sent Fed-Ex), it cost me a small fortune! 🙄

Hi guys - thanks for all the input - I am not sure exactly what is needed get my bike tuned properly but from what I read on the website and cross referencing it with the "MC28 HRC cab details " file , it looks like the main components for the kit are : emulsion tubes ( 16165-NH3-911)
Needle holders ( 16186-NH3-911)
Needles ( A25A,A25B & A25C )
Main Jets :180/182/185/188/190/192/195/198/200/205/210
"Y" joint and Red "X" joint
All of these parts ( minus some of the MJs) are included in "Spirits" list of parts he has available .I understand that there is a power jet blank that is also needed but I can get from Japan .wouldnt these parts be a good start ?? Appreciate all your feedback

They're MC21 parts.
