I purchased one of the adjustable types with the "mole grip" style handles... worked a treat on the NSR dry clutch

I like the one made up from a couple of old steel clutch plates welded to a handle. Picked mine up from redline.

cheers

18v cordless impact driver. No need for a clutch holding tool. No aggrevation, skinned knuckles or accidental damage.

And the torque setting on that would be?.........

Remember that using a rattle gun not only rattles the offending nut off, but also crashes everything inside the gearbox together. Should be a last resort in my opinion.

I've found that while the clutch nut can be a bit of a bugger to get off sometimes, with the right tools you don't need to skin nuckles.

But, I have used a rattle gun on several occasions, sometimes even disconnecting from the compressor and connecting to the nitrogen tank for a wee bit of extra mojo Twisted Evil
