Has anybody come up with a replacement crank for the 250 yet? I am nearly at the end of mine.

When I was at the Tech 3 workshop earlier this year I was told that they intend to make RS500 and RS250 cranks , that's as much as I know at the moment .

Knew they were making rs500 ones, but didn't know about the 250 ones John, nf5, nx5 or nxa, or maybe all, then again nf5 ones aren't all the same, oh dear doesn't get any easier does it.

Cranks

Tue Nov 10, 2015 7:05 pm » Post: #4 » Download Post

Hi Les,

I can't say for sure Les , I took it as being NX5 as I'm sure that's where the biggest market would be , especially if the proposed 250cc Classic TT Race goes ahead , which I believe is to be announced at the bike show.
I do know of a unused NF5 (SPL) crank for sale or he would exchange for a 1988-1989 NF5 Crank

I've spoken with Tech3 and they intend to produce/ rebuild Cranks for the RS500's, and maybe the 250 will follow , we need to convince them that it a viable proposition to produce them!

I would have thought that the 250 crank would be a much more viable option, as there are far more 250s in the world than 500s.
If they plan to do the 250 crank anytime soon,I would gladly put in an order now. Let me know if you want me to talk to them, to show interest.Or message me if there is anything I can do to help the case.

Ok if you're desperate, but imo, he would be better off putting more miles on his own crank, than picking up an unknown crank that's already on mileage.

I have seen an Italian guy on Facebook who has made or has had someone make for him NXA cylinders.
He has also had NX5 / NXA cranks made and is in the process of 'testing' them.
Hopefully some good will come of this.

Yeah, they list a lot of things they don't actually have! We've given up asking! Rolling Eyes
