Just won this:
Clicky

Either it'll be a bargain or a load of crud. Shall see. Will be my 'wet' bike if it all works out!

Well, set off this morning and picked up the latest NSR!

Looks ok, main bearings have seized and the crank is a bit rusty. One cylinder and head are good but the other pair are lunched.

Everything else looks ok, full electrics (although PGM1) in it, all cables there, box of nuts and bolts etc. Brakes etc complete. Rear wheel is a 18" but hey ho. Another for the scrap pile!

All it needs really is a rear shock, inlet rubbers and reed cages, crank (got a few), cylinder (got a few!), and the usual consumables like a chain, piston etc etc.

Think it's a bit of a bargain!

It is when it's pulling a ton of steel & plastic!

60mpg though makes up for it, plus you can run it on *ahem* 'special' fuel Wink

I had a Peugeot that ran on that *special* fuel a few years ago! It was great! Smile

Is is illegal to run *special* fuel over *there*?

It seems the norm here that every hippie with a *special* engine runs it and sometimes when they pass you can tell where they get it: McD vs Fish n Chips place or chinese takeout

I think you can run it on anything you like as long as you pay the duty on it. which I'm sure Andy and 2 smoke being law abiding members of society would have done! Rolling Eyes

Here they only check commercial trucks, $1500 fine for using anything other than road taxed fuel, cars run on whatever, no one checks...

Well I finally managed to spend a bit of time on the new NSR this evening. It is just a mock-up at the moment to get everything in place and see what parts I am missing!

Still needs a bit of tweaking, then some bracketry made up. I'll get the motor together during the week and get the pipes on. I'm going to have to fit a '21 swingarm unfortunately as the right hand pipe will not clear the '18 one. Unless I do some cutting and welding to make the pipe a bit more bendy.
