Engine stopper link: loose or tight?

Mon May 07, 2012 3:46 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

part# 50188-KV3-830

The engine stopper link on my mc21 has a lot of free-play and rattles when I go over bumps. Should it be snug and free from movement, or is this typical?

It should definitely be a nice snug fit.
Apply some grease when replacing the part.

Ok thanks, I'll take it out and see what needs replacing. Is it complicated to remove the assembly, or can I do it with a rear stand and basic tools?

This part is also referred to as a "Torque arm" it seems.
Thread One: Wear symptoms
Thread Two: How to remove/replace

Don't be scared to use the search tools.

Thanks again tuckerbag, finding a lot more threads now searching for "torque arm". I'll order the assembly and give it a shot this weekend.
