Cooling hoses

Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:57 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

folks, couple of questions.

Does someone have a photo of how the colling houses route at the thermstat housing?

No matter how much I fiddle the hose from the top left of the radiator to the thermostat gets crushed. The diagrams I've found are crap and show me nothing.

Second the kickstarter has no return power, should the return spring be prewound one full revolution? - Embarassed answered my own question with some judicious searching, yes, I should have pre-wound the kick start.

Cheers,
G

See these photos for some idea of the themostat octopus. (MC18 R5k / R6k)

Short hose goes to top left head
Medium hose goes to top left radiator
Long hose goes to bottom right head

Are you trying to route it inside the frame?

I was. Then after buying a flexible generic hose at the auto shop, realised i had the hose from radiator to thermostat the wrong way round.

Now it fits. A tight fit. But a fit none the less.
