Kickstart shaft alignment ?

Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:08 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys , i need help .
When i pulled the clutch cover off , the kickstart mechanism fell off and apart . Now when i am trying to put the cover back nothing lines up .
Which way do i line up the return spring inside the the cover ?
I have tried to slot it into the casings at the 6 o clock position but the kickstart gear won't mesh with the other gears .

What have i missed ?
Thanks , Neal

lol
I did the same thing the first time disassembling that side of the motor.
Thankfully I didn't have much difficulty getting it back together.
The return spring does rest on the casings at 6 o'clock.
Have you gone over the parts manual to make sure you have the springs and washers in the correct place?
I'm sure you'll suss it, post up some pics if you're still having trouble.
