mc16 to 17" conversion ?

Sun Mar 21, 2010 5:45 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi ,
how will the sprocket ratios differ on a mc 16 when a 17 " rear rim is installed ? Will we change the rear sprocket by 2 teeth to keep the same top speed ?

Thanks .

No idea, it's all to do with the total diameter of the wheel, so you might find there isn't too much in it, as I suspect the 16" rim has a taller tyre on it than the 17".

It will depend on the aspect ratio of the tires. In theory you could have the 17" wheel taller than 18" ,or vice versa. With the tires that are likely to be mounted, the 17" will probably be less overall diameter than the 18". Again ,how much will depend on the tires.
