30mm float height

Fri Mar 25, 2005 7:19 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Shocked Shocked
took my carbs off today to give them a clean and make sure they are at standard settings and the float height was set at 30mm, after reading an earlier post about carbs that recomended 12-13mm isnt this is a bit extreme Confused .

any ideas why anyone would do that Question the bike did have a bodged crank when i bought it, and is 12-13 about right for a 21R
cheers all
Very Happy Cool Very Happy

Mine are set at 12mm on my 21R. Runs fine. Float bowl will be half empty at 30mm!

Or half full if you are an optimist! Very Happy

13mm is stock for all NSR's.

just to check that i am measureing them correctly.

carbs off float chamber unscrewed, hold carbs upside down so the floats hang, and then measure to the end of the float from the flat where the float chamber screws on.
i have noticed if you set the above to 13mm it doesnt seem to open the rubber tipped valve enough. or does it Question

is that right or is that how you measure you "fuel" height Question

how do you measure your float heights Confused Confused Question Smile
