MC18 pipes

What's the deal?

GP or SBS?

Let's be having an answer!

We've just made another batch of GPs, as no one wanted the SBS option. Funny that when you stop one thing all of a sudden everybody wants 'em!

I've taken it upon myself to run this poll thing at the bottom of the page. Never done that before so I don't know what's gonna happen.

I would say that this is mainly for 18's as we're gonna keep on doing both types for the 21/28, but feel free to give an opinion.

Haven't got an 18, and never will (no point going backwards eh?) but personally, I prefer the either-side look.

If I buy an MC18 at some point, I will be looking for side by side pipes personally.

I'd also like to see them slightly staggered like the later models too, but that's because I'm a tart and I like the "talking point" always associated with it!

Hmmm...

3 replies so far, all for side-by-side pipes, and 2 votes, but a 50/50 split?! I voted first, and KNOW I voted SbS!

Either someone's voted without commenting, or they've voted the wrong way? Smile

i voted sbs,it just looks best with the 18 swinging arm but i will be fitting gps on my 18 im building because im fitting a 21 swinging arm.i think the best looking is the staggered look but only with a swinging arm that looks like the one on Sito Pons 1988 nsr(it looks better than the 28 rear). So Matt fancy make me a swinging arm(1988 gp nsr look) and some staggered pipes? I'm not going to vote because I all ready have a set of gp pipes on my 18. I origanially wanted side by side but where not avalibale. I have grown to like them even thought the left side of the bike looks like it's missing something. I think you should make a batch of left pipes that would fit with the gp style right to give the stagered look of the 88 mc18. You could make a bunch of right sides and then mix up how the lefts are made and make every one happy Very Happy . Them for people like me I could just change the left pipe to fit my mood. Steve's idea is very interesting--would it work?

I just put in a vote for sbs, BUT having just ordered a set of GP from
Tyga that are in transit becuase SBS not available, I think I will cry if
Matt now makes SBS. Would it be stainless or mild?
So, I voted but I cannot commit that I can afford to buy another new
set of pipes, esp. since I would like to not put too much into the 18 so
I can get a 21/28 when a nicie comes along!

In any event, Matt, it is really nice of you to put the Q up to the group!

Wanted to add, just got my GP chambers & alum. silencers from Tyga.
I am quite happy with them, so won't be putting out more bucks for
the same sided if they come up. I do think it should be an option, though!

I've voted so I'll comment although I don't actually possess an NSR at all.

I voted SBS but I'd like to put a proviso in of they would have to be staggered, I'd be loathed to buy a set that weren't and would probably go for GP style if I got a MC18 and the only option were GP or SBS level.

SBS for me. When i first ordered a set i asked for sbs and got them, unfortunatly there was a small error somewhere down the tyga bhp line lol and they had to be sent back. When my replacments arrived they turned out to be GP style ones. Hence i now have GP on the bike but would much rather have SBS.
