Exhaust clamps needed

Fri Jul 03, 2009 8:38 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I need to build exhaust hangers for my MC21 side by side TYGA system mufflers to stop them from destroying themselves again. I can find 60mm clamps on the TYGA site for just over £5 each but they want to sting me for £30 to post them.
I've trawled the internet but can only find 110mm diameter clamps.
Can anyone tell me where I may find some closer to home?
Thanks.

Try Gav at Jap4. He can get TYGA clamps put into a larger incoming shipment, so the item freight cost should be far less.

Try this website:

http://www.stagonset.co.uk/fasteners?cart_id=556713_32052&prm_grp=A2_PClip_RbbrLnd&summit=Stainless|Steel|Rubber|Lined|P|Clips#top

There not exactly the same, but I think they could quite easily do the job. Dirt cheap to and a whole heap of sizes available.
Ive never used the site before, but I did see it advertised in a magazine (Classic Bike I think it was).

Or why dont you just bond the hanger directly to the silencer? Would make removing them a bit of a pain, but would probably be lighter (and even cheaper!).

Thanks Socket,

What a good little site for odds and ends.
Two 60mm clamps including postage less than £9

Just got to build some support arms now and try to make them as unobtrusive as possible.

No problem! Yeah, thats what I thought, a good one to remember.

I was going to do exactly the same as you are, but I ended up just keeping the standard cans/pillion pegs instead.

Have fun making the hangers!
