newbie here, hello to all

Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:41 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

hi fellas

i'm a newbie here, so please take it easy ;)

i just introduced myself into the biker world by acquiring myself a '90 MC21 NSR250. (wish it's a REPSOL MC28)

anyway, the bike is almost perfect, got a bit of problem here and there.

also, wanting to change the cans/silencers because they have bad scratches on them

just wondering if cans off RS250 would fit and would i gain anything by replacing my std ones with std RS250 ones ?

cheers

Very Happy

Hello Repsol_NSR, welcome to the Forum.

Not trying to be pushy, but we have a new Marketplace opening imminently, and will have some nice carbon cans that are a direct fit to the stock system!

Cans on an MC21 will give you a very slight increase in performance, but more than anything they look nice and weigh significantly less than stock - which is always a good thing!

Watch this space!

lol.. was gonna ask them same question :D

don't forget some pics too andy

can't wait

;)

but honestly i want to know if it's a good idea to use RS250 silencers/cans on MC21 NSR ? I know the power gain prolly stuff all, but as long as there's some not loose some then it's all good

the reason is my friend have accidently bought RS250 cans/silencers for his MC21 now he's confused whether to use them or sell em

i think he got em for good price

anyone ?

Bung 'em on Repsol_NSR, it won't hurt! :)

Like I say, you won't notice much, bit more noise, maybe some top-end RPM, probably a little free-er revving, but a good weight saving and they look way better than stock!

Just had a look at my RS250 cans and NSR250 cans side by side, and without taking them off and buggering about with them, it looks like they should fit. Only word of caution is that the join on the RS250 chambers looks slightly different, but the cans look the same.

Just a note about these Carbon Fiber silencers Andy is talking about...

I tried them out on an MC21 last weekend. They have a very nice crisp sound to them, and give a little bit of mid/high range power.

The quality is exceptional! Fiber is very nice, and the end caps are great work. Over all, they are worth the cost!

PS: Andy and I are working hard on finishing up the marketplace, and we hope it will be useful to the members here @ NSR-WORLD.COM. We are starting out with some cool products, and will grow the list as time comes.

Thanks

You could make up some alloy triangles and have them welded to the swarbricks like the stock honda ones. I was thinking of doing that.. then i crashed it and had other things on my mind

NSR-WORLD.COM Workshop

At the bottom of the index page is a maintenance schedule.

Lubing the chain depends on how much you ride. Really you should do it after ever ride, just like we all do, eh guys?! Confused
