How do you test a power valve servo?

Tue Mar 08, 2005 7:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all

I cannot get my powervalve servo (PVS) to work. I've built the bike up from a non runner, so I assume the PVS activates the PV and they complete a cycle when you turn on the key? Mine doesn't. Infact they don't work at all, even when the bikes rev'ed beyond 8000.

Is there a way to test the PVS? Any ideas?

Much appreciated

Dan

It's all in the 250 Tuning section.

Power valve test

Tue Mar 08, 2005 11:08 pm » Post: #3 » Download Post

Thanks Andy, I had read the tuning section on setting the PV and disconnecting the TPS block connector. My problem is that I can't get the powervalve / servo to work at all.

Wanted to know how and what to test.

Cheers

Hi Dan,

Is the PGM ok?

Assuming the valves are free, try removing the servo from frame then remove the pulley and seperate the top and bottom of the servo, be careful as theres quite a few plastic gears in there.

Eventually the motor and the potentiometer will be revield, a simple test on the motor and the pot can be made.

Burnt out motor, snapped wire faulty pot etc.

Never had chance to give the exhausts a good airing yet then!! Twisted Evil

Never did get my bike sorted, sold it now Crying or Very sad

All the best,

Regard's Phil

Thanks I'll give that a try. No the exhausts are actually still at the place I mentioned having the dints pulles out - only a 3 months wait so far!

Cheers
