And another NSR gets added to the stable

Soooo, there was this NSR sitting on a Bay Area forum for some time. The guy has some issues with it revving through the power band. I supplied some pointers, and mechanic in the area went to help the guy out.

I was keeping an eye on the bike just in case it got fixed. Well last night I went up to San Francisco to look at it, and they had just finished trouble shooting the issue, and got it running. Found some issues in the wiring, cleared that up, and ran just fine.

Looking the bike over, it seems the exhaust is something not stock, thinking HRC, as it doesn't look "hand made" like the JHA, TYGA, and others. The Radiator is looking HRC as well. Its an SE MC21, with the rear shock replaced with a Honda RS250. Front suspension is stock adjustable forks. Got a new Ohlins steering damper. Body work is Battle Factory race.

Came with a full JHA jet kit, pitbull swing arm stand, new top end rebuild kit (actually only one cylinder) .

So the bike will either become a third race bike (back up 250SB bike), or I will let my girlfriend race it (as long as she doesn't get faster then me).

Spent Saturday doing a top end rebuild in my MC28 race bike. This bike spent the entire season (eight races, with another eight track days) on one top end. When i took it apart, the engine looked like it could have gone another season on it. Figured since I had the parts, I might as well go ahead and do the work.

Should be a good 2005 season of racing!

RS is at the suspension shop getting setup for me. Also getting the Penske rear shock put on it with a proper Ti spring put on it. Got new body work, but haven't decided on how to paint it.

besides that, it's ready to race.

Will get some pics of the new MC21 once I get it cleaned up.

thanks,

The paint job is the 98 or 99 HRC paint scheme for the RS250. It was never supplied like this (came in plain white) but the colours they used in the brochure.

Sorry for taking a while in replying, but I have been working on some webstuff for NSR-WORLD, and been working on going through the new NSR to get it ready for the first weekend of March.

So the RS shock is an older model, probably mid 90's if I had to guess. The bottom eyelet was cut off, and a new one welded on to match the NSR bottom mount.

A local race suspension shop did the work so I don't think there is an issue with it. He has done a good number of other typed of bikes that don't have the best selection of rear shocks, and no one has ever had an issue with those.

Thanks,
