O-Ring chain

Tue Feb 24, 2009 6:49 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All
Has anyone done back to back dyno testing with o-ring chains and standard chains? I have heard that o-ring chains suck hp. Any evidence anyone?

Hello Deon and welcome !

I take it you are the guy who emailed me earlier yesterday ?

Have also heard that the o-ring chain loses more hp than a standard one, have not done any back to back testing yet but will later this year.

Also are you racing with Neal down there in the Powersport ?

Cheers
Mario

A well lubed non O ring is worth around 0.5-0.75hp on a good NSR over a good O ring. X ring chains loose less.

Out of interest, how do you know it will lose the 0.5-0.75 hp?
