NSR250 MC21 Electrical Problem

Wed Jan 28, 2009 2:13 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi everyboby, my NSR 250 MC21 was going fine, then one day the lights, indicators, horn and consol lights just stopped working. I have checked the fuses, none were blown, I noticed the battery registered very low voltage when the bike was switched on and the motor wasn't running but when it was turned off or the fuses were removed (apart from the main fuse), it registered 12.5 volts. I have tried taking the bike apart and looking for damaged wiring and I cannot find anything. When the bike is running at 1500 or less RPM, the indicators will come on really faintly and bearly flickering. I have tried disconecting almost all components on the bike and I can't isolate anything Mad . The bike seems to run fine, and the rectifier isn't that old. Can someone please help, I'm desperate!

Half the time I don't even see my own Sangsom-Suh-prrrrrrriiite when you're around... it seems to magically disappear every time I'm concentrating on something else! Shocked

After 16 years in Thailand I've evolved. What can be easily mistaken as drunken eye rolling is simply me keeping an eye on everything all at once!

Oh, and I never need to use a euphemism with Andy. Tell him how it is or he won't listen.

As long as you tell me before the fourth pitcher, the second bottle of Sangsom, or before we get to Happy-a-Go-Go, else it looks like I'm listening, but I really am miles away! Very Happy

Anyway, I still say it's the reg/rec! Laughing
