Newbie - please help!

Sun Dec 14, 2008 8:26 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Well hello all. Please bear with me i'm new to this site and actually new to NSR's! I'm just in process of passing my bike test after many years (long story re delay but getting it done now before the march deadline!!) and needed a bike that wasn't to heavy and had a low seat when my bruv came up trumps and found an NSR250R MC11 amoungst his race bikes - luckily untouched for race purposes. Now back to the point, the bike could do with a little TLC before I put it on the road, some new plastics wouldn't go amiss but struggling to find any! Has anyone got any suggestions as to where I might find any? and in fact any other helpful info would be greatfully appreciated.

Many thanks
Em

Good luck. MC11 are real hard to come by now. I would let it go and get something more contemporary that you can get parts for.

Thanks James, starting to think the same! or its gona be a spray job but could really do with a new screen, it went 'down the road' a few years ago.

Please excuse my ignorance but there seems to be alot more MC16 and MC18 plastics etc about and I'v found a screen for an MC18 but I pressume its a complete no no that any of these will fit?

Thanks Em

I have no idea if it will fit, but I doubt it. Somebody will know. But this is onlt the beginning of your problems. What are you going to do when you need a crank or pistons?

Very true! I have these good ideas and really should sit down and wait for them to pass! I think he is trying to stop me ordering a new Ninja250, fell in love with one at bike show other week - prob partly because it ticked all my boxes apart from price!!

I kind of wanted another project aswell hence the mc11, I restored an old MB50 and put it on the road when I was 16 (to long ago now to think about) it was my pride and joy and suppose I wanted to get that satisfaction again.

I could be wrong, but don't MC11's share many parts including bodywork with NS400R's?
