Test Ride / Carb Set-Up Fuel Tank

Thu Oct 09, 2008 7:15 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

The fuel tank is from a Honda GX140 Engine, normally fitted to plant equipment such as generators / water pumps etc. It mounts very securely, bolted into the std tank bolt hole at the head stock, with a supporting bracket which locates on the frame cross member. I reckon its secure enough to actually ride the bike with it on, not been down the road yet though. Would make plug chops on the rear cylinder easier.

ROTFLMAO

You're not helping the cause are you?! It's bad enough people calling 250's chainsaws and lawnmowers, without you starting to convert one with parts off garden equipment! lol

Yep Andy, it does look a bit agricultural with that tank on Laughing
It would be hilarious to see it go down the road Laughing Laughing
A case of function over form?

Rich, you`re starting to make me too jealous! Git!
Far too many toys and goodies in that garage.
Bloody size of the garage makes me jealous on its own!

The pics are at my Dad's place, not mine! I know the garage is pretty big. Its now a '3 bay' size after a recent extension. He practically lives in there now. Its probably bigger than my 3 bed semi in Leeds! I've just bought a more modest sized timber shed / workshop for my garden, for my NSR.

Tom, the GT40 is a replica, not an original, the base kit was from GTD in Poole but heavily modified over the years. My Dad built it from scratch, he's pretty handy with a spanner. Some pics here http://www.flickr.com/photos/72156692@N00/sets/72157606315643380/

Si, yep that is a Cossie you see. One of the early homologation models with the large Turbo and water bag / spray. Cloth Recaro's but no Air-Con.
Its had the Turbo wastegate mod & ECU which really reduced the Turbo lag and pumped power up to around 325 BHP. 18" Oz rims, AP Brakes, Stainless big bore exhaust etc.

Sadly, it hasn't turned a wheel in years. The Cossie may go up for sale to fund the next project. A Honda RC162 250/4 Hailwood Replica (using a CBR250RR engine). Which should eventually look something like this
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3033/2928826436_869f74a8bd_o.jpg and sound like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTG7sdDD1II.
