Hi guys,

My fuel tap is leaking and I either need a new one or possibly could replace the O ring between the 2 metal parts? I'm wondering if the fuel tap is the same as any other Honda part I.e, NC30 or NS125 or anything else that might be easier to find in a breakers?
Or do one of you guys have one I can buy fro you?

Thanks!!

Regards

Jason

Jason,

I have used the petcock from an early model CBR900RR on an NSR in the past.

The reserve tube and filter is a little longer, but that's fixed by using the reserver tube and filter from the NSR petcock.

Also, the black plastic turn knob is longer, but you can still use the NSR's for that. So basically your just using the petcock body. As for the NC30 and NS125? Not sure if they are the same. May have to swap some stuff like I did with the CBR900RR petcock if they are not "exactly" the same.

Just a bit of warning about changing the plastic turn knob, I tried a petcock from MC16 tank that I have on the MC21 I am currently rebuilding. It fitted ok, but the MC16 plastic stem was too short so i just thought I could switch out the plastic turn knob. Wasnt able to as the shaped bit that sockets into the plastic knob was a different size between the 16 and the 21 so in the end i had to get a 21 petcock.

cheers

I sorted my leaking fuel tap with a quick stop to the engineering supply shop.

I got a nice little s/s valve with teflon seals that will last for ever, some fittings and nipples and made up a little bracket to hold it on the right hand side inside of the frame.

A new fuel tap was $90NZD and all the bits and the hose cost me $20NZD......................Pretty good if you ask me!!
