'91 Honda rs250 (non-USD) fork conversion to MC21?

Mon Jan 31, 2005 1:32 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Does anyone know for sure what is needed to do this conversion? I've heard conflicting accounts, ranging from "the rs forks are a direct swap" (i.e., will work with NSR yokes, calipers, axle, maybe front fender) to "the rs forks are shorter than the NSR forks" (and therefore require the rs yokes) and use different calipers and front fender. Does anyone have it on good authority what exactly is involved in such a conversion? Please email or PM me if you can end my confusion....on this matter at least.
Thanks,
Jim

Paul Herr (wrench) and Cody McDaniel will both be able to tell you for sure!

Expect Paul along any time now with the info!

Pre USD RS forks are the same (41mm) diameter as the NSR, so they will pop into the NSR yokes (triples). Not 100% sure about the calipers... but I would state Luke's reputation on the fork mounts being threaded; the same as the MC18/21.

"Looking" at the front fender and calipers, they "look" identical to the MC18R5/6K and MC21, but I think the piston sizes are different.

I have all the part numbers if they are of any use.

Andy.
