MC21 - Brembo caliper adaptors and floating discs

Fri Aug 22, 2008 2:18 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Can anyone tell me a source in the UK for adaptors which would let me fit 40mm hole space Brembo calipers on an MC21? I have the calipers lying around and it would be fun to use them.

Are there any options than EBC for front discs? Can anyone post pics, the EBC site only has an example photo.

Thanks!

PM me with your E-mail for pics of the EBC rotors. I have a set for sale. I also have a set of the adapters, they are from a MC28 but I think they are the same?

MC28 and MC21 calipers are different. One is threaded, the other blank (and the fork leg threaded).

Cosequently the offsets are different, so the adaptors will only work with the MC28.

Having adaptors made shouldn't be a great issue for any half decent machine shop. Looking at the rear caliper bracket Silikesguiness had made by NK recently, he would certainly be up to the task... if he has the time!

Does anybody know if the brembo adapters for the nc30 are the same? and would work for the mc21.
I guess the nc35 are not the same as the nc30? Bigger disc?
Are they on the opposite side of the bracket, like the mc28; would they then work on the mc28?

Crazy questions but I am not near my bikes and I have bought a few sets and from memory I am trying to work out what else I have to buy.

For information, I have found a new reliable source for nsr adapter brackets; just waiting for the company to start production. They look amazing though.
Expect the price of 296 discs and brembo callipers to rocket on ebay. Idea

Cut and pasted from a page 4 mouse clicks away from this post;

"All new BREMBO caliper adapter brackets. CNC machined adapters allow fitting of Brembo calipers (40mm pitch) to your MC28, MC21 and now for your MC18. Fits your stock front forks. Complete kit with with stainless bolts. Sorry for use with stock sized rotors or discs only. Unfortunately the manufacturer of this part has raised their prices quite a bit.
MC 18 (stock size rotors) ----- 194 Dollars plus shipping
MC 21 (stock size rotors) ----- 194
MC 28 (stock size rotors) ----- 194"

And here they are on a bike in the UK Rolling Eyes

Yes, and here's the email I got from the proprietor of that site which caused me to start this thread. There are too many unceratinties for me - new manufacturer, ever-increasing price, tax & duty, etc etc. Plus I'd rather use a British manufacturer.

Hi, I can get them, but they have to be made specially ordered and takes about ten days, the other shop I dealt with stopped making them for the NSR bikes, the new shop charges a lot, its going to be around 205 US Dollars plus another 18 dollars for shipping to the UK, right now I am not doing paypal but should be up in a month or so, you could send me out an international postal money order from your post office if that offer that service or I can accept cash by resistered mail.

Here is a picture for you

Thank you,
