from the brands they stock i have found:
renthal chain:any 520 108 link chain for the 21 with stock sprocket sizes

rk chains: 520ks & 428xso
but nothing for brake pads, EBC is an aus brand could anyone else help with part numbers for rear pads no matter the brand as I will call around.
also thought it'd be a good thread if everyone can list interchangeable part numbers for the nsr's as well, having them in one place would be convenient and possible sticky?

A quick search on Google for "FA187HH" netted 837 results, and I bet well over 1/2 of those results will cross-reference that part number with other manufacturers. If your "shop" can't cross reference pads then I'd find another one! All the shops I've ever been in have a book/books with the range of at least the most common pads in; each page having scale (or full-sized) diagrams of them to compare. The pads are used in early Blades, VFR's, RC30's, all sorts of 90's Honda! If they can't help you with something this simple then I wouldn't have a lot of faith in them!
A similar rear caliper is used on the VTR1000F Firestorm (in gold, if you are that way inclined and want to swap for sake of bling!) and also on the NTV650 and Suzuki SV650. (650N model I think, not S model.) These are widely available.
Any 520 chain will do the job. No part number needed. Just make sure it has enough links! 15/42T is standard for MC21 sprockets, so you need a chain with 108 links. Buying one with 120 links will most likely cost you more, just for the pleasure of throwing away what you shorten it by! May as well roll up a £5 note and set fire to it at the same time... unless you smoke, and then you are already doing that! _________________ Andy.

I dont have the information at my finger tips right now as I am on holidays, but I got a replacement chain, sprocket kit from a place in Sydney. They are always advertising in Motorcycling Australia. If you check out websites for the sydney stores you will eventually come across them in the chain/sprocket kits where they list MC 21 option.
From the top of my head it was about 230 or so. That was for a RK 'x' o-ring chain, rear and front sprockets. Sorry I cant do better than that but give me 3 weeks or so and when I am back in Melbourne I can get the exact details.
Here in Melbourne, I just went to Bikemart, told them I need new chain and sprockets for an NSR MC21 and they did the searching. At teh end of last year I got:
DID X-ring chain $95 (on sale)
cheap generic front sprocket $25
cheap generic rear sprocket $44
Having read some more into chains and sprockets ("the chain gang", an aussie sprocket manufacturer, was referred to)I think next time I will go with good brand everything. It is supposed to give you better longevity.
k, managed to get into the work email system. Details are;
