Phillip Island Track Day 18/08

Thu Aug 21, 2008 8:00 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I finally got my NSR rebuilt, together, nothing falling off and using my dodgiest bits and pieces possible.

My mate was back from Italy so we decided to do a track day. Unforutnately a few other circumstances meant that he couldn't get his TZR on the track, so he pitted for me Cool

1 wet session, 2 dry, it started raining half way through the 4th when I decided to call it a day. It was good to see another NSR out there and ChrisB was there too!

Happy snaps

Well at least it stayed togeather, that's a good thing!

So, this'll be the awesome Auzzie weather we've all read about eh?
Shame you can't see it but in the members area there been some of your country men claiming 12 hours of sunshine every day (even days that have 10.5 hours between sunrise and sunset!), 365 days of riding weather a year, $2500aus mc28sp's and even claims of cheap beer....

If we're talking sessions I've done 16 individual races and over 40 trackday sessons.... got wet twice, both times from racing in March which is actually still winter Rolling Eyes

I've only lived in Melbourne for3 years, but they keep telling me "If you don't like the weather, wait 30 minutes!" Melbourne is the land of weird weather.....8 hour sunlight periods in winter right out to 12hours in summer!

Becoming a member has been on my list of things to do.....just like understanding how the PGMIII works.

oh well, hopefully this will encourage more to start posting of their NSR adventures.

Id love to go to Phillip Island for a ride. Its a bit of a hike from QLD though.
I'll swap you QLD Raceway for Phillip Island . . .
As for the aussie weather, when i was in Adelaide last x-mas, the sun was up at 6, and stayed there till AT LEAST 8.30 - 9PM. Thats over 14 hours of usuable sunlight. Very hard to get used to.
NXRSR20, hurry up and become a member to help fight the UK vs AUST cause. Your country needs you !!

Bah... nothing compared to Fontyyy's neck of the woods... mind you, it's 24hr darkness and penguins wandering around in the winter up there! Laughing

My missus couldn't believe it when she first came here. From near the equator and 7am sunrise/6pm sunset to 4am ~ 10pm summer daylight! She hates the short winter days though.

True. I guess our days are a little more consistant in that reguard. Certainly no penguins in QLD !!! The sun has almost set at 5pm in winter here. Its dark enough that we cant even play cricket after work. Whoever said we are the 'sunshine state' needs to change that for winter.

I'd love Iceland in the summer (no, not the shop, to those in the UK!) for the 24hr daylight! Being nocturnal I could do with the sun out at 3am to work on the bikes or even go for a ride!

It'd be handy for daylight MOT's too! Laughing

Wasn't QLD supposed to be getting daylight saving too? Twisted Evil

I think if I had 24hr daylight I would go crazy like Al Pacino in "Insomnia"
