Help with NSR250 oils

Tue Jul 29, 2008 8:56 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hey, i just recently bought a NSR250R and i need a bit of help.
With two strokes there needs to be oil mixed in with the fuel, do i have to put it in the fuel tank itself? what is the oil just beside the fuel tank (bout knee height on right side), what does it used for?

A bit of help would be appreciated... Thanks.

Two stroke oil goes into the tank/filler on the right hand side (on a MC21 anyway). Use a good quality synthetic.

What year and model is it?

A 96 SE is not a MC16. Checked the model history page on this site, or here: http://www.dreamgate.ne.jp/NSR/general/quickref.html

The oil is injected with a small pump. Work out what model you have and check the parts diagrams. If you want to find out more about it, search the forums - there are numerous threads on this.

he may have gotten the VIN/engine number and rattled that off to us.

I would highly recommend browsing the maintenance and technical sections of this website to pick up heaps more information on top of the searching that Middo has advised.

Can I also suggest proper sentence structure and not just phrases.

You may get more people helping you rather than giving the appearance of a neanderthal that doesn't know how to communicate to others.

So sorry dear sir. I certainly did not mean for any offence to come of that statement/s, I will try harder next time.

although, if i be honest, i thought i was here for advice on my bike not an english lecture. if i be picky i can notice a slip up from yourself...

Don't start me off guys!

nxrsr20 has been around on the Forum for a while, so he knows that I like posts well constructed and in plain English, due to the large number of foreign readers who do not use English as their native language.

I agree that "mc16..." didn't convey a particularly informative message, but did guess you had read it off the side of the motor! You got the benefit of the doubt, being newly registered, but the blunt style of the post dissuaded me (and I'm sure others) from replying.

We can (well, I can!) admittedly be quite stuck up at times! Laughing
