clutch pushrod question

Tue Apr 15, 2008 5:12 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

hello i have been looking at getting a new clutch cable for my MC28 as i have had to wind it right out to make it work.
but on striping out the plates to clean them off it appears i could be missing a part?

is there meant to be a small ball bearing situated on the end of the push rod. just before the hub that mounts into the outer plate (god that makes sense) hopefully those who have taken it apart recently will know what i am on about.

Many thanks. K

Did you check the parts manual? It will show all the parts on the clutch.

to answer your question, yes there is a steel ball between the push rod and the lifter part.

And this steel ball (part #96211-10000, it's just a 5/16" ball bearing really) has the ability to both roll several yards over an uneven floor or vanish from sight at will.
