torque spec question

Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:09 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the proper torque spec is for attaching the exhaust headers to the 2 studs on each cylinder? - this is for a Tyga rather than stock exhaust, if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Mark,

Looks like 20.2 for the MC28, so I'll assume the same for the MC21. I and my bike thank you! Very Happy

The cap nut that screws onto the studsis 2.8 kg-m (20.2 ft-lbs).

The torque settings from a stock exhaust VS the way TYGA uses a flange that the TYGA pipes slide onto and use springs shouldn't be that different. The stud and nut are still the same size and being used in the same application, which is what really determines the needed torque settings.

thanks Charles - sounds like 20 ft-lb should be about right for the Tyga pipe too then.
