good day at the pb shoot out

Tue Dec 07, 2004 7:52 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

well we had a good day was a bit wet early on but dryed out
good turn of bikes but no other nsr s thou

fastest bike of the day was a 2000 honda rs at 146 mph Laughing

3 race rgvs went into the 130s the fastest being a vj21 a 138mph
and a aprillia with a 300 kit at 132 mph and i think another aprillia went int the 130s

think i ended up 2nd road bike at 128 mph but we left with a few bikes still to go the quickest was an rgv at 134 Shocked
think i could have broke the 130 if the rear sprocket had arrived in time (2 teeth from standard) but it arrived today Evil or Very Mad
the clutch on my vj23 didnt last the day but still managed 124 mph again on the standard gearing

there was a couple of tdr s
about 4 kr1 s
2 250lc s
a few aprillias
2 tzr 3xv s
loads of rgv s
but sadly no other nsr s Sad

pb took quite a few pic of the nsr and a lot of info about it
and told me it would be in the article in the march issue (avaliable end of jan) along with the wright up about the day and all the results including the ss 1/4 mile which wernt avaliable at the time
i asked them to put in a thankyou to andy and nsr-world for the help with the bike which they said they would do

That sounds great! Pity you didn't have a tail wind like the time when they tested a stock KR1s at about 139 or something...

146 for an RS seems a little on the slow side. I'd love to see one timed at 160ish!

What was the weirdest bike there?

not that you would call it wierd but one of the rd was a 250 ypvs i didnt know they made one of those
it was all the normal rgv kr1 tdr tzr ect think there was tz race bike aswell but see that do a timed run no hybrids or anything like that
apparently we did have a tail wind couldnt say i noticed it myself

the 250 ypvs was japan and austrailian markets only, there's very few in the uk cos everyone wants the 350.

the TZ never did a timed run as it nipped up on a warm up lap.

the tail wind wasn't noticable on the way up the strip but coming back down the return route it was very noticeable (well on mine anyway)

i'm totally happy with 106mph from the RZ, it might pull a slightly higher gearing but then wouldn't be as good on the road.
have to get the mc16 done now and see what that'll do Very Happy
