Stock but lightened sprocket and carrier vs F3 sprocket and carrier.

F3, 785g

Lightened stocker, 1086g

The F3 one does have alloy nuts fitted though. The lenths HRC went to get the NSR the best out there hey.

What did they do for the bearing spacer inside the hub? the stock one appears to be made from wrought iron left over from the industrial revolution Confused

I was going to make a lighter one, but couldn't find the motivation...

Only the stock '21 has steel spacers, of course the '18 being the best of all the NSR's got alloy ones as stock as do the F3 wheels.

Yes, Honda kinda gave up a little after the MC18.

Look at the 88. It was obviously right as the 89 went the other way on a lot of things. The 21 and then the 28 both mimic the 88 in many design areas, only with a softer edge.

I think that the 89 MC18 was Honda's usual trick of not refining, but just going the whole hog and making something new. Then they subtely reverted back to the previous years design.
