RC valve, what are the electrical signals ?

Mon Jul 23, 2007 9:40 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Has anybody measured their voltage and polarity ?

From the scematic there are only two connections to the valve motor, so is it +-12v or something in between, or are they analogue signals with variable voltage/speed ?

Can't do it myself, one pgm is busted the other machine needs cylinders and I'm at work.

What is the current draw of the valve solenoid under normal conditions ?

Servo motor operates on 12V.

Servo positioning potentiometer operates on 5V.

Is it just +-12V, no intermediate voltages ?

Do you by chance know the normal current draw ?

Servo motor is 12V. It either turns or it doesn't.

Concerning current draw. Not off the top of my head, but I can find out.

Chances are that if Honda felt so inclined they would use a stepper motor in the RC valve servo now. It would be extremely accurate and very fast. probably cost more though.
