Clutch adjustment

Thu Jun 21, 2007 10:33 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

When i have the my mc18 in gear with the clutch in (engine not running) its dragging a lot - ie pushing the bike turns the engine over a bit.

Is the only adjustment the one under the clutch cover? I've wound this full travel both ways and dont seem to get any improvement.

Does this point to worn friction plates?

Is pulling the clutch off an easy job for someone thats never done it before?

Try changing your oil.

Both lever and mounting adjustments just control freeplay, not clutch actuation.

Gearbox

Fill the Dirty Gearbox up with fuel and give it the arsenal clean, found that a Fuel Bath does the World of good for freeing up sticky oily grease.

Worked a wonder for freeing up my gears, meshes and shifter cylinder,

Embarassed
