Fri Jun 08, 2007 8:08 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Does anyone have the full times of the F250/400 or Open 400 race at Brands last week?

Just interested in finding out how much slower I am than the slowest there! lol Very Happy

Fastest lap was a 51.27. MJ was saying a 54.3 - 54.9 is what most do though.

I just found the results
http://www.derby-phoenix.co.uk/documents/brandsresults030607.pdf

Slowest of the 250/400 classes looks like a 1.06...

Last 5 in most of the races were over a minute. Interesting to find that out.

I reckon I was doing 1.01's last time. I want to get to a 56/57 hopefuly and I'll be happy.

Loved Brands - it is a scratchers circuit - just need bigger balls

F250 and unofficial F400 points after Brands are here http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/teamsparrow/results/f250_2007.xls

reckon in a race situation you'd be able to knock 2 sec off that time Max.

I think we should all book into the Inters next time, as we were passing some people like they were standing still. I think we'll be able to flow a lot better as more people will be going at our speed, and also, the faster guys we come across in the group could hopefully tow us along!

You lot booked into novice? What a bunch of queens, you shoud all hang your heads in shame.
Normally if you get a stopwatch out the front of fast runs about the same pace as the fast F400 boys.

This is a real pet hate of mine, track heros running reasonable race pace laps (which you claim to be doing) in the flippin beginners group

Words of advice. Always try to sneak out into a group that are all slightly faster than you, as it'll help drag your round at their pace.

No point in being the fastest of the slow group as it won't make you faster. If anything it'll drag you down to the slower pace.

I usually go in the inter group, but for what ever reason last time we were at Brands we all plumped for the novice so we could wobble around together (how nice!)

The event was a pace event which meant we all carried transponders and they could log our times. They could then put us up a group or down a group depending on what we did. With the exception of Barry MC21, we all remained in the novice squad.

Guessin’ Vale needn't worry just yet Embarassed

No I agree, but it's not like we've all done 20 track days or anything, and I certainly am there to just have fun, unlike some you see on track days... I would argue that booking into the 'fast' group, because you feel you are fast, when at Brands certainly, there were guys lapping in the 50/51's, would be stupid or dangerous. Especially with our laps sporadically hovering between 1.00 and 1.10 (although some of that was due to traffic). I wouldn't feel safe being passed by someone on a lap 20 seconds faster than mine... With the commitment and smaller limits that go with that kind of time.

Like Matt says it will help being with faster riders too so Inters next time and in another 5 or so hopefully be at the tail end of the fast group! Lol what a dreamer! Wink

I wonder if the guys running 20 seconds slower than you "felt safe being passed by someone running 20 seconds faster"?

I can run middle of the fast group and looking at the DP results from the weekend I'd have certainly done no better than run in back of the F400 pack.

Too right Rolling Eyes

As well as Fontyyy getting told his slow by my daughter
my 7 year old boy came out with another cracker.

My boy saw some pictures of me doing jumps and wheelies at a motocross trackday and said to me "God if you can do that then I'm going to start motocross coz if you can do that then I'm sure I can do it" Confused Rolling Eyes
