MC16 and 18 : How much are they worth?

Sun Jun 10, 2007 7:28 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi everyone,

Im just curious to how much these bikes are worth. The bikes that im looking at are project bikes in non running condition. They are pretty well complete. The guy is asking around 2,000 CDN for the MC16 and about 2,500 CDN for the MC18. Are these good prices?

Thanks

How much do you want them?

I think the prices are steep for the UK, and I wouldn't want to pay more than £500 for a non running project bike - they're very old now and som parts are getting hard to find, as well as expensive.

Are they registered? I'm assuming you have as much trouble as the Americans with getting 2 strokes road legal?

supposed to be in good running condition, but unconfirmed. let me know if you want the contact info

Im in Quebec, I would prefer to find some locally, but I wont buy them if they cant be registered. Quebec makes it real hard to get any old bike on the road.

To be fair, a non running MC18 isnt worth much at all. Cracking bike all the same (I like the '18 the most out of all the NSR's) but they dont fetch that much money and most parts for them now are discontinued.

I would look very hard at buying a non runner to make sure the parts it requires are still avaliable as alot for the '18 are not now.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all of the responses. I talked to the seller again, and he said that he has 2 mc 18's are in running condition. One is just missing the exhaust, another is missing some fairings. They are also plated and registered, which is fairly hard to do here. Is 2000- 2500 $ CDN an okay deal after this?

Thanks again guys.

Ah, different kettle of fish!

If he fits the fairings to the bike in need, or the pipes from the unfaired to the faired bike, and it runs well, and has a title, then that's not a bad price!
