Probably a stupid question but does it just pull off or what?

I see theres a screw above it but its hard to get at and on my bike is a security type screw i cant undo anyway.

Why do you want to remove it? It's not a good idea to get rid of it completely...

Once the screw and retainer is removed the TPS can just be pulled off the side of the carb. There is nothing really holding it.

But like Maxim says, unless your running some sort of race ign system or non TPS carbs (the TPS still need to be on the bike even with non tps carbs)they run a whole lot better with the TPS.

Just want to unplug it to set the rc valves - turn ignition on, then off, then remove tps then ignition on then adjust them to the marks?

Just unplug the plug, leave the TPS alone.
Follow the wire from the TPS itself, there's a plug tucked away on the bracket the air solenoids hang off.

(this may be a lie on an MC18)

Yeah i just realised it unplugs further back - feel like a bit of a dork now!

They're bloody hard to set up and every one is different (due to the tolerance of the potentiometer), so don't take it off, that's why it has a security torx bolt holding it in place... Your bike will make about 10bhp if it's set up incorrectly...
