mc28 clocks

Mon May 21, 2007 8:23 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

hi - purchased an nsr250 mc28 today , after last owning one over a decade ago...
this one though needs some tlc as it's a new import and as yet unregistered... also it's missing the whole clock assembly and card.

i have sourced one at apex...unfortunately they want £550 for it , what are my chances of finding one elsewhere??? are parts as difficult to find as they were a decade ago??

also i have no idea what year the bike is... can anyone tell from the bodywork alone as it has the same colour scheme as the mc28 for sale in classified's.

i'm guessing i'm going to be in for a lot of t'internet searching before i get this nsr back to it's former glory as it appear's to have been stood for a long time!

You'll be lucky if it's missing the card and PGMIV as well as the clocks, I hope it was cheap!

Yahoo Japan maybe, keep an eye on this and see what it goes for.
You sometimes see them with an HRC card as well, it's what you want if you want to run a smartcard and get some go out of it, the 030 card is the one, not the 010, the 000 or any other suspect number if your going to use normal pump fuel. You sometimes also see the card on it's own, it's useless to man or beast as they're matched to the PGM.

NSR parts aren't that hard to get, 2nd hand MC28 parts are quite rare though. Honda dealers can get any part that's still available if you supply the part number and they are in the parts manual (most dealers won't have microfiches).

The bodywork would indicate it's a 1994 model.

does anyone have any idea how much they normally go for?

will it just be a case of plugging it all in and it will work? there's not any other electronic's to cause trouble is there?

at least there does appear to be a few around -
