Why M-max is crap!

Thu Jan 04, 2007 10:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I was working on a wire splice on my MC21 today and while looking back in my box with dismantled parts, I thought why not crack the M-max-box Twisted Evil

So, by now I understand why people are slightly disappointed about the effect.... Despite that the GPS connectors are used, it is just a loop! Idea It only takes the + of the rear brake light which is to be connected to Orangle-blue-wire. So in effect, the m-max box only only does the first wire splice..

There is a nice advantage of the M-max box: If you scrap it, you can use it for the second wiresplice, without the need to adapt your original wireloom...

You gotta admire them though... M-max made a lot of money out of that loop of wire! Laughing

HRC are just as guilty, you should see what people pay for the HRC ones for the 400's, as far as I'm aware all the "plugs inline with the normal wiring" stuff do nothing that can't be achieved for pence, only real HRC/F3 replacement CDI's are worth bothering with.

Click here for an finished Ebay auction for a resistor in a box with HRC written on it.
Yes, that is nearly £200 for absolutely nothing, the "alter the ignition curve" bit is an urban myth

As for the '21 HRC box, my £££ is on it being nothing but a tidy wiresplice (hence someone worked out the wire splice by taking one to bits Idea).

But the best clue as to it doing nothing is that quite possibly the most powerful normal road going std NSR250 engined '21 in the country (Andy's) doens't have one Wink

£200?

Blimey. Think I paid £35, but I was happy to as I didn't want to cut the loom...

I've sinned Shocked

The MC21 HRC box is a wire splice in an HRC box
The MC21 Mmax, well, we all know that story
The NC30 HRC box is a wire splice in an HRC box
The NC30 Mmax is a wire splice in a box
The NC35 Posh Limiter cut is a resistor in a box
The NC35 Mmax limiter cut is a resistor in a box
The CB400 Posh limiter cut is a resistor in a box

The HRC F3 PGMII is not a wire splice. Cool
My HRC F3 PGMII with adjustable chip is just about as cool as you can get Cool Cool Cool

What does a MC21 posh box do? Is it just a wire splice as I'm going to bin mine and just splice it.

Take a wild guess Mick.

I've got both Posh and Mmax boxes for the RVF lying around, unfortunately though they may cost the same to make as an HRC one, they don't fetch quite the same money second hand...
