NSR Vs. RGV

Tue Sep 05, 2006 9:47 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I recently acquired a 1993 Rothmans nsr250 mc21.....now my mate has just purchased a 1994 Suzuki RGV250. I have no mechanical expertise whatsoever, however my friend is a mechanic. My bike aslo has a HRC delimiter in it. My bike is running but his isnt yet (he needs a battery and kickstarter). Who will win this clash of the titans?!?!? I am curious as there has been much debate between us and others and also harsh words towards eachothers machines. Does anyone have an idea as to who would walk away victorious?

If it's a normal Suzuki 55 bhp spec RGV and it's powervalves are well maintained it never will and if jetted safely neither will the NSR.

It's us fools chasing ever last horse and perfect carburation who seize them.

Well, the NSR has direct links with the RS, or should I say the RS has direct links with the NSR so is pretty much based on a GP motor..

The RGV, well thats based on... er... well.. Im sure its based on something but whatever it was it wasnt up to much lol

RGV or NSR to win, depends how well each has been maintained, but a dog of an NSR will out last a dog of an RGV.

One of the reasons I got rid of my RGV illness was the fact that the powervalves could spontaniously self destruct.

It was the same with the RMX enduro bike. In the mid 1990`s I saw one drop its valve & bugger a blokes engine just before a ride out! I had one at the time but was ignorant to this problem, just thought it was "one of those things".

Besides, I`ve always thought the NSR was one of the most pretty looking bikes. The RGV just doesn`t look as nice, the early blue & white striped one is about the best looking, in my opinion.

Now if your mate had a PUKKA Rgv - the VJ23, then you'd have a contest! Cool

The RGV's dont have much going for them do they, chocolate cranks, a power valve system that turns into a time bomb and only the last ones (VJ23) look any good, they even tryed to copy the Gullarm and got shot down by Honda lol
