I'd speak to Mr. Matt from TYGA!

In fact, I know MikeNye is after a set for his MC16 too, so a worthwhile enquiry for you both!

All the NSR's share similar bore sizes, so you'll probably find that, although not a perfect match, one of the MC18 pistons should do the job. It's just a case of knowing which one has the closest measurement to the MC16 - and if he doesn't know, I'm sure he'll make the effort to find out!!!

Andy.

well i checked a mc16 piston and barrel with waynes mc18, and it all looks to be the same. both pistons are the same size, fit both barrels with the same clearance. both are marked KV3. the only differance i could see is the mc16 piston is marked HF1 inside, the mc18 is marked HF4.this is the early mc18 engine.
so what do we think guys? Wink

Boo hoo. No one wants to talk to me Sad

The MC16 has an uncoated piston crown, with rings of a different material, but dimensionally they're the almost identical to the MC28, so it is not only acceptable to fit the latest model pistons, but recommended. do replace as a pair though as their weight is different.

Also, the MC16 doesn't have oiling holes for the gudgeon pin, so all in all the MC28 piston is a better choice.

The MC28 piston is actually a good choice for any NSR from 16~28.
