My problems are
1) doesnt start on kick (need to roll start a couple times (10x) to get it running)
2)Engines blogs out
3)Engine reved all the way to 9000 without opening throttle and so i cut the ignition and switched the kill switch but still the engine was running at 9000\
4)idles at different spots
Stock except for turbo filter and mfactorywest silencers
Pull the airbox off and have a look at the carb slides. Are they 3/4 ot fully open? Maybe a bad throttle cable. Check operation of carb slides via accelerater.
Also, how old is battery? NSR's are a pain to start with bad battery, may explain erratic idle.
When was last time you cleaned carbs out? If never/over 6 monthes, do that while inspecting slides.
Thats my 'relatively new to 2-strokes" guess.
Hope this helps... _________________ ........."I love the smell of 2-stoke in the morning.......Smells like victory"............
A free revving engine can be down to a lean mixture, which can also explain the poor starting.
Have you made any changes to the enigne recently?
If not check that you have not developed an air leak, and that the inlet manifold bolts are tight, all clamps are tight and the rubbers are not perished. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

If it's the centre one sealing the crank to the cases, not a lot - PM Andy for an exact price.
However, if it's the centre bearing seals, you're stuffed, as they cannot be changed (AFAIK). New crank or live with it I believe are the options! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

If its the center seal, how much is it for a new one? labor? My mechanic said i should either buy another used engine or send my crank off to DFR for a rebuild..
In the long run, if i buy a used engine i wont know if there are any problems, and pay around $600 including labor. Or send my crank to DFR to get it rebuild and keep my original engine,
Need some suggestions!
what do you guys think? _________________ 93' MC21
You may buy a used engine with the same problems, or any number of other ones.
Pull yours apart first and see what the problem is. It may not be a crank seal after all - could be cracked cases! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

i was talking to Russ (lobelow) last night about the same problem he had on his 28. turned out to be a split inlet manifold rubber. The bike had been stood up for a while.
